Our camps are offered in four sessions: A, B, C, and D, with each session running for two weeks from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Wet Feet and Opti courses are one week long and may be repeated.

CANSail courses are two weeks long. To receive certification, sailors must complete both Week 1 and Week 2. These weeks are preferably taken in the same Session, but is not required. For example, a sailor could complete Session A: week 1 and Session B: week 2.

Wet Feet (Opti Intro)

This is a one-week introduction to sailing for 7-9 year olds who have no sailing experience. Using small optimist dinghies, our focus is on safety and fun on the water.

Opti Basic

Upon completion of Wet Feet, 7-9 year olds can further develop their sailing skills in optimist dinghies. Some CANSail 1 material is introduced at this level, while we still focus on fun and safety on the water. This course can be completed multiple times to advance skills.

CANSail1

This is a two-week course for kids 10 years and older who are beginning their journey in sailing or progressing from Opti Basic.

This entry-level course teaches fundamental sailing skills including basic sheeting, steering, and boat handling on all points of sail using double-handed dinghies. Upon completion, sailors can sail within defined boundaries set by an instructor.

CANSail2

This two-week course builds on the skills learned in CANSail 1. Sailors learn to adjust their bodies and boats for changes in direction and wind speed. They also practice boat-handling maneuvers in a controlled manner while in a controlled setting.

* Completing CANSail2 qualifies participants to become an EHYC sailing camp volunteer.

CANSail3

This two-week course refines the skills learned in CANSail 2 and introduces the sailor to intermediate sailing techniques.

The focus is on boat speed, applied technical skills, and maneuver efficiency, while sailors are also exposed to a greater variety of conditions.

CANSail4

This two-week course further develops skills learned in CANSail 3. Sailors learn advanced boat handling and proficiency in a variety of conditions, as well as how to execute maneuvers in a competitive setting for tactical and strategic advantage. To pass this level, sailors must participate in a one or two-day regatta.

* Completing CANSail4 is a prerequisite to becoming an EHYC sailing coach. Learn how
